Sorry, Johnssica fans. It looks like John Mayer will not be reuniting with his ex-girlfriend Jessica Simpson, according to a Mayer pal.

When People asked Mayer's friend Rob Dyrdek, star of MTV's "Fantasy Factory" (and the singer-songwriter's accomplice in one of his many clever paparazzi stunts), whether he thought the two would get back together, Dyrdek replied, "Absolutely not."

Mayer and Simpson, who dated on-and-off for about a year and a half, finally called it quits in 2007, disappointing fans who were looking forward to a rock 'n' roll "Where You Are"-style John and Jessica duet.

But hold onto your earbuds, folks. People pressed further, noting that an unidentified source claimed the two "have been in touch," and Dyrdek backpedaled, saying he "wouldn't rule out" a reunion; "I'm just saying [I don't think so]."
