My Favorite Beauty Products

I have some favorite products and I would just like to thank them for helping me keep my look together. Yay!!! I thought it would be a fun idea to share them with you, and here are some of my tips for use.

BUMBLE & BUMBLE Hair Powder: I absolutely adore this stuff! It's a dry shampoo and can be used to absorb any oils on the scalp or at the roots of your hair. I LOVE that it comes in five shades, so it can also be used as root coverage if you are due for a touch up, but haven't the time. I found it's great as a root lifter when I do a pomp too. I spray a bit at the roots and let it dry (it dries much faster than an actual root lifter product that you usually have to blow dry) then back comb. It hold great! I also like to use it as a product cover-up. If you've used a lot of hair product (for an updo or a slick pony), and need to refresh your style , but haven't the time to wash first, just comb and if you have any flaky bits, just cover it up with the powder to conceal.
black, brown, red, blondish, & white. 1 oz $19 or 4 oz $35

products can be purchased at a salon that carries this line or on their website www.bumbleandbumble.com

T3 refresh Volumizing Dry Shampoo (light/auburn/dark) 3.3 oz $25

Klorane Gentle Dry Shampoo 4.5 oz $18

Oscar Blandi Pronto Dry Shampoo 1.4 oz $11 or 3.2 oz $21

all products can be purchased at Sephora or www.sephora.com

BENEFIT She Laq: This is a makeup sealer. This is a life saving product for especially long days when you can't stop and re-do your makeup. It comes with an applicator and 4 brushes. You can use it to seal your eyeliner, mascara, shadow, and my favorite...eyebrows. I use eyeshadow to shape and darken my brows and it definitely does not stay put all day. With this product over it, my brows ain't goin' nowhere! I love it!!! When it dries it does make your skin feel a little tight, but after a bit it's like nothing is there. .05 oz $30

BENEFIT Stay Don't Stray: A makeup sealer that's used to lock in eye makeup. It can be used all around the eye to keep not only your eyeshadow in place, but also your concealer under your eye. The great part is it keeps eyeshadow from creasing! It also has vitamins and locks in moisture. I'm all for products that help keep the signs of aging away. $24

products can be purchased at a Benefit counter, Sephora or www.sephora.com DERMALOGICA Multi Active Toner: A toner is a spritz that not only refreshes the skin, but assists with hydration. It prepares the skin for proper moisture absorption. I use this after I do an at home facial or just after I wash my face. It closes your pores and keeps the moisture locked in. I find that it keeps me from getting oily throughout the day. I like to keep mine in the refrigerator in the summertime and pull it out to refresh my skin on warm days. I carry it with me to the beach or the pool to keep my skin from drying out. 8.4 oz $30

DERMALOGICA Special Clearing Booster: An acne clearing product that I swear by! Contains 5% Benzoyl Peroxide, Zinc Sulfate, Sage, and Tea Tree. Used as a spot treatment to dry up acne or can be used as a booster with your moisturizer. I like using it as a spot treatment. I have used it on the deepest zits and it drys them up in a couple of days. I love it! 1 oz $42

all products can be purchased from a skin care salon that used Demalogica or at www.demalogica.com

M.A.C Pro Lash & Zoom Lash: I really love M.A.C mascara because the consistency is awesome and the black is the blackest I have ever used (and I have used a lot). They also have a variety of different types of mascara, but I find the best results come from mixing them. I use both of these mascaras together most of the time. Zoom lash is more volumizing and defines the lash and Pro lash lengthens and thickens. Together they form the perfect lash! I recommend these two, but you can check out the many others they have and form your own "perfect lash". $13 and can be purchased at any counter, Pro Store or at www.maccosmetics.com

Glamour Magazine Do's & Don't

When I started this blog, I wanted to share my opinion of today's trends, fashion and beauty. I'm an avid reader of anything fashion, and one of my favorite magazines is Glamour. I have always loved looking at their "Do's & Dont's" section and found that it is really popular, and has been for years. I also discovered that you can become a member of the site and upload your own do's & don'ts and rate photos. They have a ton of members, all there for a bit of innocent fun.

I thought it would be amusing to add a few Do's & Don'ts in my own blog. Unfortunately I have come under a little heat. Most people LOVE it (and the blog altogether), but I think some are a little frightened that they may end up on the "pages" of my blog. My little blog is MUCH smaller than Glamour magazine, but the negativity is already there. So at the risk of losing some of my readers, I've decided to tone it down a bit. Hopefully that won't also cause me to lose readers. I'm not here to hurt feelings and make people feel insecure and uncomfortable, its all in good fun. At any rate...I thought I'd post About Glamour's Do's & Don't so everyone can see just what its all about.

Glamour’s Big Book of Dos and Don’ts
Fashion Help for Every Woman
By Cindi Leive and the Editors of Glamour

There’s not a woman alive who hasn’t left the house wearing something regrettable, but Glamour is here to help. For 67 years, the magazine’s beloved “Dos & Don’ts” column has made for hilarious rubbernecking, teaching readers invaluable lessons in style along the way. Now readers can find all that fashion wisdom in one place. With 750 on-the-street photos, expert makeovers, and advice from top fashion designers, you’ll never have a Don’t day again. I would guess that showing up on the pages of Glamour magazine even as a fashion "don't" would be fantastic, but actually...I'm not so sure. Here are some Don'ts I pulled from their web pages.

A: Too tight, Too scrunched, and witch boots are NEVER in unless it's Halloween! B: ALWAYS remember to take the price sticker off, even if you wear them out of the store. Too tacky!

C: If you need the extra support, that's fine, but the world doesn't need to see it!! D: Not only is this horrible (like the last shot), but the bra is too small for her!

E: Wrong, wrong, wronnnng!!! And I'm not just talking about the obvious! I can handle the shaved head, but the jeans are too small, the shoes are waaaay out dated, and then there's the BRA! But at least it fits. F: If you want to wear a bra under a top like this, fine, just make sure it's cute and in good condition. NEVER wear a top like this and bottoms that show off your ass crack! HORRID!

G: If you are an eccentric, okay...but really? Even an eccentric knows that these sweats are a definite don't! H: Wait what?! I'm speechless...

I: I don't care what size you are...this is NEVER appropriate! Not even at a Bondage Ball! Buy shit that FITS!!! J: Nasty!!! This one just screams hooker and there is no way you could disagree.

K: That's just a MESS!!! There is nothing left to say. Nothing works, not even the hair! WHY don't woman just accept their size and BUY IT???? If you aren't a size 4 anymore, you aren't and no one else knows! Trying to squeeze into a size 4...everyone knows!!! L: Lets just pretend this lady has all of her marbles...get up earlier! Don't EVER go out on the street in rollers. I know the older people get, the less they give a shit, but she cares enough to put on lipstick before she left her pad, so take out the rollers!!!!

M: I'm just going to say...if you are going to wear white...you should ALWAYS wear nude undergarments...and yes, wear undergarments!!! Especially if your shower time wasn't long enough to take care of all your grooming. N: Cropped jeans are fashionable, but judging by the pantie lines on this ladies ass, these jeans are just too small! This bleachy/faded thing...NEVER good! Even if she bought those jeans yesterday it doesn't make them a good trend or fashionable. PLEASE READ FASHION MAGAZINES!!!!! Or at least look at the pictures, for gawd sake!

New Hairstyle Picture

Many women – and a growing number of men – are concerned about how their hair looks. They worry about it, and they go to great lengths to get it to look a certain way. The problem with that is the fact that hair changes as people get older. Styles also change. In addition, you can't keep your hair the same way all day. Humidity and other factors affect it quite strongly. The key to getting a good hairstyle is taking all of these factors into account. Most people don't, and that's why they have problems with the way their hair looks. Others simply don't care. There are many men, and some women, who feel that their hair is fine as long as it's on their heads. If you're one of the people who feel this way, that's fine. For most other individuals, though, styling their hair is a priority. The fastest way to get a good hairstyle is to consult with a trained, professional stylist.

There are a lot of people out there who cut hair and are very good at it, but not all of them can tell you what style would look best on you and work with your hair type and lifestyle. Find someone who can do these things. If you don't want to do that, there are some other things that you can do on your own. First, you need to find you what type of hair you have. It's pretty easy to tell if your hair is curly or straight. That's obvious to everyone. But is is oily? Is it dry? Is it frizzy? Is it thick or thin? There are all sorts of hair options out there. If you know your hair type you can find both products and styles that will work very well for you. Sometimes you see a style that another person has and you really like it.

Short Hair Cuts Photo

Now, First of all, What is Hair Made of?
Hair is composed primarily of proteins (88%). These proteins are of a hard fibrous type known as keratin. Keratin protein is comprised of what we call "polypeptide chains.” The word, polypeptide, comes from the Greek word "poly" meaning many and "peptos" meaning digested or broken down. In essence, if we break down protein, we have individual amino acids.

Many amino acids joined together form a "polypeptide chain". Two amino acids are joined together by a "peptide bond", and the correct number of amino acids placed in their correct order will form a specific protein; i.e. keratin, insulin, collagen and so on.

Short Hair Cuts! Sexy Styles!
Short hair cuts reflect self-assurance, readiness to take new challenges! That is a definite turn on. Nobody wants to be the demure, boring and conservative type of gal! We want to be viewed as an individual who rises to the challenges of today’s society! And a sexy short cut says it all! Short hair shows you are cool, confident, in control, and too busy to spend hours fussing with your hair, because… there is so many more important things in life which we should be spending our time on!

Bobs are always a short hair style always in high hair fashion and can be custom cut and colored to enhance any type, texture or length of hair.
